Each fall Community Futures hold a two day showcase and sale featuring cultural and artistic work of Aboriginal people. 2007 marks the 13th anniversary of this exciting event.
When you walk into the show you are greeted with a joyous array of colors, the smell of tanned hides and a huge selection of Aboriginal artwork including:
Beadwork
Regalia
Carvings
Paintings
Dreamcatchers
Pottery
Masks
Moccasins
Eagle head knives
Pine needle and birch bark baskets
Clothing
Jewelery
Rattles
Drums
Shawls
The Showcase has grown in popularity and success over the past 10 years. It is a terrific opportunity to buy unique, authentic Aboriginal craftwork and it is a good economic opportunity for the artist as well. Sales exceeded $58,000 during one day, at on of our prior events.
Trade shows are an excellent opportunity to share information and for Aboriginal entrepreneurs and businesses to network with the public, other businesses and service providers. Often there is minimal communication between Aboriginal goods and service providers and other sectors of society.
Community Futures' trade shows have an Aboriginal atmosphere that is very pleasing to be part of, they enhance cultural awareness. In addition the marketing and networking opportunities add direct benefit to the Aboriginal community.
Watch for local advertising and come and see what is available in you area. If you are interested in having us attend your area, contact Jordan George by phone (250) 314-1565.
